Turn Up The Heat – Value Proposition

Of course, it is a great idea!   Everyone will buy it – it’s well, a great idea, why wouldn’t they?  Do you really know for sure if your great idea will sell?   One of the pitching dilemmas, that you will face as an entrepreneur, is the ability to understand and enthusiastically articulate your value proposition.     Can you simply explain in less than 2 minutes – what benefits your service or product will provide, for who, when and how you are the only one that can do it?

A value proposition is a persuasive business or marketing statement that convinces the consumer to notice you and act on what you are asking for.   Your challenge is to convince a potential consumer that you have a better solution then what they are currently using.   If you cannot do that, then you are just another – doomed great idea.    If you want your pitch to have any chance of succeeding – know your value proposition.  Here are some helpful hints to get you started:

  • What benefit will you provide and for who?
  • How will you do it uniquely well and better than your competition?
  • If you are not the best, then you are providing the best value.  Can you convince the consumer – you are the best option if not the best in the field?
  • Can you prove what you say is true?
